This one and one-half day Conference begins with an examination of higher education as seen through the lens of innovation by Michael B. Horn. Mr. Horn is the co-founder and Distinguished Fellow of the Clayton Christensen Institute for Disruptive Innovation. He delivered a remarkable keynote address at the 2013 Conference. Hear Michael Horn discuss the concept of disruptive innovation on Horizons. His keynote will be followed by a panel discussion regarding his comments with Arizona leaders and Mr. Horn interacting. The conference will focus on today’s Arizona higher education environment, its desired future, and the steps that need to be taken.
Arizona, like many states, is seeking to increase the proportion of the working-age population who hold quality credentials and postsecondary degrees. Anthony Carnevale’s Help Wanted: Projections of Jobs and Education Requirements predicts that 61% of all jobs in Arizona will require some postsecondary training beyond high school in 2018. Achieve60AZ, a grass roots group receiving support from many sources, has been established to coordinate and drive this work forward. Join us and learn what’s new in Arizona’s postsecondary education future.
Additional presentations will be offered regarding innovations and specific work of interest to Postsecondary Education including :
• Student financial aid presented by Rich Nickel of College Success Arizona
• AMEPAC’s Student Minority Progress Report 2017
• Looking to 2018: The Legislative and Policy Agenda for Postsecondary Education
• Pathways to Postsecondary Education Awards Breakfast honoring outstanding programs and people
• Building the Workforce-Education Connection
We hope to see you there!
